It’s hard to pick the best thing about living in Normaltown. The proximity to both downtown and the Beechwood / Alps shopping area makes getting anywhere easy. I love that we can walk to bars, restaurants, the farmers’ market, and Bishop Park. Our in-town location has afforded our kids the freedom to ride their bikes to school and around town. But, what I think I appreciate most is the vibrancy and diversity of our neighborhood. People of all ages and backgrounds live harmoniously and there is a definite sense of community. Neighbors have “awesome tables” of free items and “free libraries” in their yards. Playgrounds and pocket parks spring up in communal lots, and there are always people walking their dogs on nice days. It's truly a wonderful place to live!

My husband and I decided to buy our first house in Normaltown in 2008. We chose Normaltown because it had an up-and-coming feel to it, and we were excited about living within walking distance to so many great amenities. We have taken advantage of the YMCA, Bishop Park, Normaltown bars, coffee shops, and restaurants and, now that we have children, Chase Street Elementary School. When our family needed more space, we bought a larger house in the same neighborhood in 2012. Normaltown is also in the midst of a construction boom. We’re excited to see so many homeowners restoring or remodeling their dated houses. We love living here because of the benefits of urban living in a friendly, progressive and manageable city. We’re happy to see more homeowners actually living in the neighborhood. Normaltown feels more like a community every day.
